Museum Closed as of Nov. 20

Effective Friday, November 20, Oak Park River Forest Museum will be temporarily closed because of the COVID-19 surge in Illinois and across the United States. This is in compliance with the State of Illinois Tier 3 guidelines which aim to limit gathering places and encourage people to stay home. This new restriction applies to all indoor museums in Illinois.

Our website and our on-line resources, including our web-based gift shop, remain open 24/7, and we pledge to assist our members, the community, and the general public as much as possible since staff remains working from the office and/or remotely from our homes. Call 708-848-6755 or email oprfhistorymatters@sbcglobal.net to get in touch with us.

This required closure will be re-evaluated in 14 days by state public health experts and moving forward based on infection levels and other science-based metrics. Please check back on our website for updates as they become available, eventually including re-opening information.
