Oak Park resident Ai-jen Poo is an award-winning organizer, social innovator, author, and a leading voice in the women’s movement. She is co-founder and Executive Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance. She is also Co-Director of Caring Across Generations, a national coalition of 200 advocacy organizations working to transform the long-term care system in the U.S., with a focus on the needs of aging Americans, people with disabilities, and their caregivers.

In 2019 she, along with Cecile Richards and Alicia Garza, cofounded SuperMajority PAC, a home for women’s activism that affirms and builds women’s power to train and mobilize a community of all ages, races and backgrounds to become the most effective advocates they can for a more equitable future for ALL women.

Ai-jen is the author of the landmark book, The Age of Dignity:Preparing for the Elder Boom in a Changing America. She is a nationally recognized expert of elder and family care, the future of work, gender equality, immigration, and grassroots organizing.

A graduate of Phillips Academy and Columbia University, she was the recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship (the so-called “MacArthur Genius Grant”) in 2014. She currently is also a trustee of the Ford Foundation and a member of the Democratic National Committee.
