Who's ready for lemonade and root beer floats? Join us at OPRF Museum on Thursday, June 20 at 6:30 p.m., when The Historical Society of Oak Park and River Forest will host its 2024 Annual Meeting at Oak Park River Forest Museum.
The meeting will include a brief business session and report on the 2023-24 fiscal year. There will be a presentation of the 2024-25 Board Slate for new and returning board members. In addition, we will bestow our annual volunteer awards.
It seems fitting on this summer solstice to include a special program on all things summer! Celebrate the first day of summer as Board President Fran Knechel gives a brief history of local swimming pools and Operations Manager Rachel Berlinski talks about the community’s tradition of block parties. Also, Past President Peggy Tuck Sinko will share some childhood summertime traditions, so come with your stories!
Admission is free. All are welcome to attend this free event!
