It has been thirty years since the initial publication of The Gentle Force: A History of the Nineteenth Century Woman's Club of Oak Park. But thanks to the work of authors Mary Ann Porucznik and the late Carolyn Poplett, who passed away this May, an updated second edition of the book was released just this summer on Amazon and is available in the OPRF Museum gift shop and online store.
On Friday July 29 at 11 a.m., join us for a new edition of our monthly virtual program "Ask the Historians." In this program, author Mary Ann Porucznik and project manager Georga Parchem will discuss the new edition of The Gentle Force and share some of the history of the Nineteenth Century Charitable Association.
This program is free for all and will last around 30 minutes. You must register in advance. Contact us on our website and tell us you would like to attend the live program. We will follow up with a link to join this Zoom meeting.
If you have an OPRF history question you'd like answered, click here and send it to us on our website. We will be preparing our answers in advance and may feature yours on a future show.
