Description

Join us for a free presentation and discussion by two of the editors and contributors to a new publication that puts the spotlight on a topic near and dear to all of us: food. Guests for the day will be two of the editors of The Chicago Food Encyclopedia, published this fall by University of Illinois Press.Oak Park resident Bruce Kraig is a former food columnist for Wednesday Journal, and Carol Haddix is former editor of the Food section of the Chicago Tribune. They will relate how they became part of this project and how hundreds of entries, from "Carl Buddig" to "Prohibition" and from "Chop Suey Joints" to "How R.J. Grunts Got Its Name" were selected. The book will be available for purchase and autographing after the presentation.
