The History of River Forest's Edgewater Park
Join us at Oak Park River Forest Museum at 3 p.m. on Saturday April 12 when Historical Society volunteer Frank FioRito presents his research on Edgewater Park, a forgotten piece of River Forest history. Very little trace of it remains today, but once there was a quirky subdivision tucked away in what is now the Thatcher Woods Forest Preserve. Learn more about how it came to be there, what life was like for its residents, and why there’s no sign of it today.
This presentation is an encore of a program given by FioRito last summer at the River Forest Public Library, which drew a standing-room-only crowd. Enjoy the program again or for the first time on April 12th at OPRF Museum.
Regular museum admission rates will apply. ($5 OP/RF residents, $7 nonresidents, $3 students, Free for members.)
