Description
Hear antique toy expert Steve Sommers tell the history behind toys that have a connection to Oak Park, River Forest, and Illinois. Some are famous toys and some were failures, but they all make for great stories.
Steve and Jo Sommers are internationally known toy collectors. They are the founders of Old Toy Soldier Journal, the preeminent journal about the history and collecting of miniature figures, that has been published continuously since 1976. They also founded the Chicago Toy Soldier Show that has drawn collectors from around the world to Chicago every September since 1980.
Admission to this program is included with regular museum admission. Museum members are always free.
